Land Clearing in Houma, LA
Reclaiming an overgrown lot in South Louisiana is its own kind of work. Brush comes back fast here, ground stays soft, and a "small" lot can hide a dozen trees and a wall of undergrowth. We clear lots for building, fencing, resale, or just getting a property back to usable.
What’s included
- Brush, vine, and undergrowth clearing on overgrown lots
- Removal of multiple trees for building pads or fence lines
- Selective clearing — keep the good shade trees, take the rest
- Debris haul-off and stump grinding to finish the job
Local note
On the bayou, wet ground is the thing that decides how a clearing job goes. We time and stage the work so heavy equipment isn’t churning your lot into a mud pit, and we’ll flag anything that looks like protected wetland so you don’t get crosswise with the rules.
What it costs
Priced per lot after a site visit in the Houma area.
Land clearing is quoted per project, not off a table, because an acre of light brush and an acre of mature trees over wet ground are completely different jobs. We walk the property, look at what’s on it and how we’ll get equipment in, and give you a flat number.
Land Clearing — questions
Do you clear whole lots or just single trees?
Both. Land clearing covers everything from a brushy quarter-acre to a lot with a dozen trees on it. If you only need one tree gone, that’s our tree removal service instead.
Can you leave some trees standing?
Yes — selective clearing is common. Mark the shade trees you want to keep and we clear around them. Keeping a mature live oak often adds more to a property than clearing it would.
Do I need a permit to clear my lot?
For clearing private, upland property it usually isn’t required, but wetlands and drainage areas are a different story and can involve parish or state rules. We’ll point out anything that looks like it needs checking — confirm with Terrebonne Parish before a big clearing job.
